Bareback exercises for better balance
I ride a fair amount bareback, and I think it is brilliant training for becoming a better rider with good balance. Riding bareback on its own does wonders for your balance. One thing I like to do is rising trot while sitting bareback. It is excellent training for the core muscles, but also for the seat and overall stability. It takes a bit of timing and balance. Do give it a go! It can feel tricky to begin with, but then you get the hang of it.
Another good exercise is to hack out into the woods with your horse and climb or walk over logs and rocks. It is great practice for really learning to go with the horse's movement, and for getting a feel for how to shift your balance in different situations.
I hope that was helpful! 🥰
