A better foot position in the stirrups
How do you get a better foot position in the stirrups? When I ride horses with bigger paces I lose my stirrups, my lower leg flies up and the stirrup spins round on my foot! How can I work on this to get a steadier foot in the stirrup?

A common cause of a poor foot position is gripping up with the legs to stay in the saddle. Work on it in two-point and three-point seat. Focus on putting weight onto the ball of the foot at the big-toe joint, and keeping the foot underneath the hip. As a general rule, think long, relaxed legs 😊
