Training
Jumping - is it too much training?
I had jump training on Monday (90cm at the highest but mostly lower) and competed on Tuesday (100cm, 2 rounds) and I'd really like to go to an open class next Tuesday where I'm planning to jump 110.
My horse is a lively jumper who usually competes at 120. Do you think it's too much? She had a rest day on Wednesday after the competition and has then been hacked out a lot with a bit of lungeing.

Hi!
It will almost certainly be fine, but perhaps do not compete and train as intensively every week. Vary it a little instead. If these weeks become more intensive, then take a couple with less jumping afterwards π
Think too about doing strengthening work alongside the jump training and competing. Jumping takes quite a lot out of a horse, so it is often a good idea to add activities at lower speed that build strength and coordination. Plenty of walking through woods and rough country, where the horse naturally lifts its legs, weaves between the trees and goes up and down hills, is excellent.
Good luck with the competition season ππΌπ¦
