Rising trot for beginners
I'm teaching my cousin (10 years old) to ride and I need some easier exercises. We're working on rising trot and keeping our balance but don't really know what else we can do. Please send any tips and exercises!

When you are first learning rising trot, I think practising it in walk is underrated. The rider does not need a quick rhythm between standing and sitting. What matters is getting the foot underneath the hip and being able to switch between sitting and light seat without holding on to the saddle or accidentally balancing on the rein. Grooving the movement slowly and under control in walk makes it far easier to carry over into trot afterwards. 😊
