Turning my legs into the right position

How do you turn your legs into position? I've got a bit of a problem with my legs and especially my lower legs. I tend to draw my knees up when I use my legs, which means I lose the grip in the stirrup and my lower legs get unstable. I think a lot of it has to do with my legs being turned the wrong way. But how do you rotate your legs so they sit correctly? Once I've found the right leg position I think a big part of my lower-leg problem will sort itself out, so I'm trying to start by solving this one. Thanks in advance for any answer.

Try working on releasing your knees and not gripping with your legs, which often happens when you draw the heel up. Think of letting your toe come up instead. Aim to keep the pressure on the ball of the foot, where the foot is at its widest. When the pressure lands in the wrong place on the stirrup, you tend to twist the legs. Good luck!
