Sitting to the trot: softness and technique
I really can't sit to the trot. I've heard you're supposed to train for it but I need help.

People often try to sit heavily and still, which can actually work against you. Going with the movement is largely about staying relaxed through your hips and following it. Riders who do this well still look very still to anyone watching, and that comes from holding stability through the core while keeping the hips soft and the legs relaxed π A common mistake is to grip the saddle with the knees and legs to stay on, but that can in fact make things bouncier. Picture your legs hanging loosely from your hips, let your core do the stabilising work, and try to follow the movement with your hips. Good luck! π
