Sitting trot - tips and training
I find it really hard to sit to the trot! Any tips? ❤️
Answers from HayHay's experts
Most riders grip with the legs to find their balance when they first sit to the trot. That tension unsettles the horse, makes you bounce, and sends the horse a driving signal at the same time. Work on your seat both with and without stirrups on the lunge. Usually it comes down to letting your hips follow the movement and really making a point of relaxing your legs. 😊 Finding a soft, following seat in sitting trot takes a little time and patience, but it will come. 🌸
