Should I buy a younger or older competition pony?
I'm wondering whether I should buy a younger horse of around 5 years, or an older one that has learned not to, say, lean on the bit and pull and so on? I'm after a competition pony, so it needs to have been competed. Older or younger?

If this is your first horse, I would absolutely recommend buying a schooled, older horse. If buying a more experienced horse is not an option and you go for a younger one instead, then make sure you have a good trainer who can help you along the way. But if you can manage it, my firm advice is to go for a schooled horse as your first. 😊
