Hello! Some horses will let the sheath down if you: Rinse under the belly and the inside of the hind legs with body-temperature water (do not aim the water straight into the sheath) Massage around the sheath Sometimes it is enough for them to relax a little while you scratch and brush the rest of the body Other horses are not so easy. In that case you will need to call the vet out to give a sedative. It is worth asking the vet to check the sheath while they are doing other work anyway, such as a dental check.
