What's good to keep in the grooming bag?

What's your "must have" in the grooming bag? Right now I've got nothing except a hoof pick and a root brush, so the plan is to stock up on everything I need! What I'm thinking of getting: thermometer a trimming knife for fly season a magic brush a mane and tail brush a grooming stone for when they're moulting Feels like I'm missing loads 🙈

A body brush and a curry comb are the essentials in my view. Grooming is really good for the horse and a lovely way to bond. It gets the circulation going, for one thing 🥰 A rubber curry comb is handy to have too, as it has so many uses. I tend to use mine to scratch the horse. If you would rather not use a rubber curry comb for that, there are good massage brushes available.

I also think a sponge is essential. You can use it to sponge down a sweaty horse, or to apply fly repellent ☺️ Another useful thing is small rubber bands. You can of course use them for plaits and the like in the mane, but there are so many other handy uses for rubber bands around a yard. You can mend broken keepers on a bridle, fix a rug surcingle that has gone, or even tie up your own hair!

Good luck!
