Travel boots for an Icelandic horse

I'm wondering what travel boots you should use for an Icelandic horse, I can't find an answer anywhere. Is it the same as for ponies and "ordinary" horses? So leg boots, tail guard and so on?
Answers from HayHay's experts

Those who use travel boots often use the same ones they would for a pony, and a cob size tends to fit the slightly larger Icelandics.

Personally I usually do not use travel boots, as I have seen a fair few injuries caused by them, but that is very much a matter of personal preference. If you would rather not use travel boots, you can bandage the legs for long journeys instead and put protective boots on. Remember to always take any studs out of the horse's shoes. You will have to feel out what works best for you and your horse 😊
