Changing the pad under the saddle

I have a saddle that was fitted to my horse a few months ago with a pad (it wasn't me who had the saddle fitted, it was the previous owner). The saddle still fits brilliantly with the pad underneath, but I'd like to switch to a different pad. Can I do that? Switch from a black medium-thickness one to a fluffy one (genuine sherpa) without it changing the saddle's fit?

If you switch to a pad of a different thickness or made of a different material, you risk changing the fit along with the saddle. It is worth asking the saddle fitter who helped fit the saddle to your horse for advice, so that you get it properly right.
