Primary vaccination - can I compete before the vaccination series is finished?

When we bought our horse something went wrong, so we missed a primary vaccination. We're now redoing it on Tuesday and then the other two later on. Can I still go to unaffiliated shows and pay-and-jump rounds?

Hi!

Your horse is barred from competing until the eighth day after the second vaccination (jab B). The Swedish Equestrian Federation sets out the following on its website (these are the Swedish rules, so check the requirements of your own national federation):

Primary vaccination means three vaccinations (A+B+C). Before a horse has been vaccinated at all, it cannot compete.

Once the horse has had its first primary vaccination (A), it still cannot compete.

The interval up to the second primary vaccination is 21 to 60 days. The horse becomes eligible on the eighth day after the B vaccination has been given, and from then it can start in competition.

Between the B and C vaccinations the interval is 120 to 180 days. Once the C vaccination has been given, the horse is eligible to compete again eight days afterwards.

If the 180 days between the B and C vaccinations are exceeded, the horse has to be given the full primary course again with the A+B+C vaccinations as above.
