The saddle slides back despite being fitted - what could be the cause?

My saddle slides back a lot despite having been fitted.

Hi! How long ago was the saddle fitted? A horse can change a great deal in its body in just a couple of months, especially over the summer when it is out at grass. A horse can also lose condition fairly quickly, or change shape depending on how well muscled it is. A saddle that slides does, after all, suggest it is not fitting quite right.

If it is a while since you had a saddle fitter out, I think it is simply time again. If it was more recent, though, I would have a different saddle fitter out for a second opinion. A saddle should sit securely and stay in place when it fits well.

Good luck! 🤗
