How do I stop my saddle dyeing onto everything?

When I had the same problem, a saddler advised me to proof the saddle. Colour coming off usually means the leather releases dye when it meets moisture, so the leather needs proofing. You can do the same thing with boots or leather clothing that transfers colour.

I tend to buy a leather proofing spray because it goes on so easily. Last time I bought Christ C3, which my saddler sells, but there are bound to be plenty of brands to choose from! 😊
