Which long-reining roller should I choose?

I am thinking about starting to long-rein my horse. But I am not really sure what kind of roller I should have. Mainly whether the rings should be raised, or whether they can just as easily "lie flat". I am after something not too advanced. What are the pros and cons?
Answers from HayHay's experts

Hello! For the roller to sit well on the horse, it needs a padded panel and a gullet arch so that it both sits well and moves with the horse. If you are going to long-rein a lot and really work the horse, it is worth investing in a really good one. The rings should stand up so the long rein runs easily through them. As an example, search online for a long-reining roller by Anders Eriksson and you will get a good picture of what a good roller should look like. 🙂
