Arnica gel - uses and effects
A few questions about arnica gel:
1. How do you know if your horse needs it?
2. How do you use it?
3. Where do you use it?
Answers from HayHay's experts
Hi!
Arnica is a personal favourite, both in my horse first-aid kit and here at home for the humans.
Here is my best attempt at answering your questions:
1. Arnica boosts blood circulation, which helps healing and recovery. You might use it when your horse feels stiff or sore, has some swelling or has worked hard. As an everyday comparison, a bruise on a person fades faster and hurts less if you apply arnica.
2. Rub it onto the area you want to treat. Never use it on broken or grazed skin.
3. Apply it to muscles, tendons and ligaments anywhere on the body. Avoid broken skin and the area around the eyes, nostrils and mouth.
I hope that answers your questions!
