Jumping nerves - daring to go over fences

I'm having trouble plucking up the courage to get over the fence, I chicken out at a 40 cm fence. These days I just don't feel good about my riding anymore. I really want to feel confident over the fence again. Have you got any tips? 😄👏
Answers from HayHay's experts

If it is specifically getting over fences that you find hard, my guess is that the rest of your riding feels secure. Think about how you ride when you feel confident and do exercises where you are sure of yourself. How are you sitting? How are you using your legs? How do your shoulders feel? Work through it in as much detail as you can, then try carrying that into your jumping. It will give you a more secure feeling. Confidence over fences comes from gradually daring to challenge yourself at your own pace. ☀️
