Getting my courage back after a fall

Getting my courage/confidence back. I've fallen off over a fence now on the horse I share, I got scared and now I don't dare jump. I'd jumped him 2 times before but I came close to falling off AGAIN. My confidence is so low and I'm almost frightened. I really don't want to be scared, I love jumping but I still get nervous when I'm about to jump him because I think I'll fall off again.
Answers from HayHay's experts

Feeling frightened after a fall is completely natural. Many of us riders have to deal with fear now and then, whatever level we ride at. We often become afraid of the fear itself, believing we cannot do what we want (such as jumping) if we are scared. We can 😊 Try thinking that you can do what you want despite the fear, alongside it. Accept the fear and focus on what you want to do. Focus on your body and your breathing. By doing the thing that frightens us, we train ourselves to be less afraid of the fear, and that makes it shrink ☀️
