How do I keep my motivation up when riding options are limited?

I love being at the yard, but now we're not allowed to ride on our usual hacking routes, so we have to ride on others that aren't good or fun at all. I lose a bit of motivation then - how do I keep it up?
Answers from HayHay's experts

Motivation is often tricky. It will be lower at times for all sorts of reasons, which is completely natural. Motivation is also often responsive. That means you might not feel motivated before you head to the yard, but it arrives once you are there and doing things like spending time with your yard friends, getting out into the woods, or being greeted by your horse in the paddock. It is important to be kind to yourself when your motivation dips, and not to panic when it does. Motivation rising and falling is completely natural 🌸
